Just One Thing

'Just One Thing' is an experimental project, exploring the relationship between motion created through physical and digital means. The theme given by the university through which this experimentation occurred was 'boredom'.

These videos are of a technique called a phenakistoscope. Often labelled as phonotropes, these are physical images that are span (in this case on a record player) and then filmed at a corresponding frame rate to give the illusion of a 1 second looping animation. I learnt a lot in this project both about the technique but also about short looping animations and techniques for creating an illusion that they are longer.
